Socials for sober and sober-curious LGBTQ+ people

The Sober Gay Socials is a London community for LGBTQ+ people who are sober or sober curious. It was started by Sion, a Welsh creator and host of the Sober Gay Podcast, who documented his own first 100 days alcohol-free and found others wanted somewhere to meet. Our socials are relaxed, friendly and open to anyone at any stage, from Dry January first-timers to people with years of sobriety. We've met over coffee, at Winter Wonderland and more, and we're always adding new ways to get together.

Queer social life often runs through bars and clubs, which can leave sober and sober-curious people feeling left out. We exist to change that. We make spaces where you can meet people, make friends and have a proper laugh without alcohol being the centre of it. Sobriety isn't a punishment or the end of your social life. It can be the start of a better one, and you don't have to go through it on your own.
